CADCO Focus Statement:

CADCO shall have a two-fold focus for its resources:

1.  To aggressively promote economic growth for Cass County through new and existing industry and business growth and expansion, aiming for creation of 200-300 jobs in the next 3-5 years.

 2.  To engage in activities which will promote the economic welfare of the people of Cass County through cooperation with the area Chambers of Commerce, City Councils and Mayors, the Board of Supervisors, and other official commissions, boards and agencies in Cass County, Iowa.

Goals for 2006 – 2007 Year

• Create 200-300 additional jobs in Cass County by 2010 (Have created 140 to-date).

• Keep LOIS updated with available sites and buildings in Cass Co.

• Develop a program to spotlight existing business in Cass County . 

• Develop a marketing and publicity plan to target potential business contacts for expansion or relocation into Cass Co.

• Develop a list of Cass Co alumni to target with economic development activity news.

• Establish and support the Rural Development Agriculture Taskforce to promote agriculture development and promotion of the ethanol and bio-diesel industry in Cass Co.

• Support Southwest Iowa Family Services.

• Support the Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG) Loan Initiative for Cass Co.

• Support and promote the Self-Help Housing Initiative for Cass Co.

• Support the Valley Business Park development.

• Support the Highway 71 Improvement Group.

• Support current and expanded vocational training as needed for economic development .

• Support the Community Builders effort in Cass Co.

• Support leadership development in Cass Co communities.

• Support the development of networking and education for home-based business.
